Provider of specialty technical services across industrial, data center & infrastructure markets.
The QAQC Manager – Electrical for Data Center Projects reports to the QAQC Director and is based in Iowa. It is a full‑time exempt position responsible for implementing, managing and maintaining the quality assurance and control program on large‑scale electrical construction efforts. The role ensures compliance with design specifications, customer requirements, industry codes and company standards while fostering a culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
In the quality management arena, the manager creates and sustains project‑specific QAQC plans, procedures and inspection/test plans that align with corporate standards and project needs. They lead QAQC kickoff and coordination meetings with internal and client stakeholders, and supervise all inspection activities—including installation verification, workmanship checks and system testing of power distribution, grounding, lighting, fire alarm and low‑voltage systems. The manager also reviews and interprets electrical drawings, specifications and submittals to guarantee accurate installation and adherence to NEC, NFPA, IEEE and other applicable codes.
Documentation and reporting responsibilities include managing all QAQC records such as inspection reports, non‑conformance reports, test results and turnover packages. The manager maintains precise inspection logs and coordinates the final quality turnover documentation required for commissioning and client close‑out. Utilization of QAQC tools for inspection tracking, issue management and document control ensures traceability and accountability.
Coordination and leadership duties involve providing mentorship and technical guidance to QAQC field technicians, and working closely with construction, commissioning and client teams to resolve quality‑related issues swiftly. The manager participates in root‑cause analysis, corrective‑action planning and lessons‑learned initiatives, while interfacing with general contractors and third‑party inspectors to align expectations and maintain compliance.
Continuous improvement is driven through regular audits and performance reviews to monitor adherence to quality standards. The manager identifies process improvement opportunities, leads initiatives to enhance the company’s QAQC program and supports training and development for field personnel to reinforce best practices and code compliance.
Candidates must possess a minimum of five to seven years of QAQC experience in electrical construction, preferably within data center, mission‑critical or industrial environments, and have a proven track record managing large‑scale electrical QAQC programs from installation through commissioning. Required technical skills include strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE and local codes, familiarity with electrical testing methods such as megger, torque and insulation resistance, and proficiency with digital QAQC platforms (e.g., Fieldwire, Procore, CxAlloy). Strong communication, leadership, attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities are essential for success in this fast‑paced role.
