Your role involves carrying out preliminary, pre‑project and detailed engineering studies for the refurbishment and development of substations and related facilities. You will prepare single‑line diagrams for control and protection systems, AC/DC auxiliary services and layout drawings, as well as technical calculation notes for equipment sizing and selection. The position requires performing load, short‑circuit and protection coordination studies, and generating relay protection settings, configuration files and technical specifications for control panels. Occasionally you will visit sites to conduct surveys, measurements, technical support and grounding studies while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). A minimum of five years’ experience in control and protection engineering for substations, power plants or similar facilities is required. Proficiency with software such as ETAP, ASPEN, EasyPower, Hydro‑Québec’s E3, PSCAD or EMTP, and familiarity with protection relays from SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens and others, as well as SCADA/RTU systems, are considered assets. Strong technical report writing skills, practical knowledge of modern protection relay technologies and bilingual proficiency in French and English are also expected.
The company offers competitive compensation, employee recognition programs and a flexible benefits package that addresses health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle needs. Employees can take advantage of diverse training and professional development opportunities to grow their skills and expertise. A hybrid working culture and generous time‑off policies support work‑life balance.
