Extrusion Operator - 24/7 Nights

Description

The Production Line Operator is responsible for monitoring the pipe line, ensuring smooth material flow and performing first‑line troubleshooting. They support the Setter with line strip, cleaning, start‑up, threading, and loading new material, while also managing pipe length, autoclave basket loading, rewinder operation and waste handling. The role demands adherence to safety standards, clear communication and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Monitor production line, ensure smooth pipe progression and perform first‑line problem solving.
• Assist the Setter with line strip, cleaning, start‑up, threading and timely loading of new material.
• Verify pipe lengths, load pipes into autoclave baskets, and operate the rewinder, including shrink‑wrapping and waste handling.
• Maintain a safe, tidy work environment and provide coverage for colleagues as needed.
• Operate basic production line equipment and learn additional procedures such as coiler operation, material identification and Gillard operation.
• Apply numeracy and literacy to measure materials, meet quality requirements and report issues.
• Communicate clearly with team members and managers to sustain smooth machinery operation.
• Take responsibility for day‑to‑day line processes, using judgement within guidelines and seeking senior support for complex issues.
• Follow all health and safety processes and procedures at all times on site.
