Energy Analyst - BESS

Description

A fast-growing energy advisory team is seeking an Analyst to support work across energy procurement, renewable energy transactions, and distributed generation. This role blends analytical depth with strategic problem-solving, supporting corporate clients and energy market participants.

• Assist with renewable energy transactions and advisory work—including PPAs/VPPAs, community solar, distributed generation, and procurement initiatives. Help coordinate deliverables and maintain organized documentation.
• Track energy market trends, regulatory updates, incentive programs, and commodity pricing. Summarize findings for internal use and client-facing materials.
• Perform quantitative assessments, including market and pricing analysis, contract benchmarking, and project economics. Turn data into actionable insights that support client recommendations.
• Develop polished presentations, reports, and briefing materials. Communicate complex energy topics in a clear, business-focused way.
• Evaluate utility tariffs, rate structures, and supplier proposals. Support the development of energy budgets, forecasts, and sourcing strategies.
• Maintain accurate databases, market trackers, and project records to support team operations.
• Partner with business development, technical teams, and senior advisors to deliver integrated solutions across service offerings.
• Manage timelines, track deliverables, and coordinate across internal and external stakeholders to keep engagements running smoothly.

Requirements

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Word for client-ready materials.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to interpret complex information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in consulting, energy markets, financial analysis, or similar roles.
• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) a plus.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation, visualization).
