  • Conduct environmental monitoring using active/passive air sampling methods and RODAC/swab surface sampling for the detection of bacteria and fungi.
  • Analyze data and enter it into Microbiology Information Management Systems (MIMS).
  • Conduct laboratory activities safely, using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to assess chemical hazards and report safety incidents.
  • Perform validation activities including biological indicator recovery, bioburden rinse/swab, endotoxin rinse, and challenge vial testing.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality systems, safety, health, and environmental policies.
  • Test city water for microbial count and absence of enteric organisms, and assess pre-treat water, clean stream, and Water for Injection for microbial count and endotoxins.
  • Utilize air sampling methods for detecting total particulates and trend data to identify anomalies in microflora.
  • Document test results and conclusions in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Experience in microbiological assays and testing.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with microbiological procedures and PPE.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-oriented skills.
  • Proficiency in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation.
  • Desired experience in utility testing.
  • Proficiency in Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Desired experience in environmental monitoring and trending.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in clinical, academic, or industrial/pharmaceutical microbiology laboratories.
  • Ability to use a respirator and work with microorganisms and hot liquids.
  • Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biological sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience in microbiology, laboratory work, and biology.
  • Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheets and databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with environmental monitoring or food laboratory (USDA, FDA) procedures.
