Working full‑time, 40 hours per week, the technician monitors the property to ensure a neat appearance, performs routine painting, minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and cleaning tasks using hand and power tools, and handles grounds work such as mowing, shrub trimming, flower‑bed care, and snow or debris removal. Additional duties include trash disposal, tool maintenance, securing the building after jobs, and promptly reporting major repairs, emergencies, or safety hazards.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and cleanliness of Ferry Manor Senior Apartments, including building interiors, grounds, and fixtures. The role reports to the Community Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or regional Maintenance Mentor and requires strong customer service skills to interact with residents, contractors, and visitors.
Candidates should have at least one to two years of hands‑on apartment maintenance experience, with skills in painting, minor plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry, drywall, and cleaning; HVAC knowledge is a plus. A high school diploma or GED is required, while vocational training, certifications in environmental hazards, or OSHA familiarity are advantageous.
The ideal employee is self‑motivated, reliable, and organized, with excellent customer‑service and communication abilities, strong time‑management and multitasking skills, and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team. Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and insurance are needed for on‑call and snow‑removal responsibilities.
