You will be regularly engaging with architects, specifiers, and housebuilders to ensure that the full range of our products are specified on relevant projects using the OneSpec Proposition system.

As an Area Specification Manager your main focus will be driving the specification of building products across architectural and construction projects in the London area.

You will be responsible for pipeline management, project tracking, and working closely with the wider sales teams to convert specifications into orders.

  • Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers within architectural firms and contractors
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to build a pipeline of projects, including networking with key stakeholders and decision-makers within the industry
  • Identify, log, and manage projects in the CRM system from concept to execution stages.
  • Track projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring that all relevant products are specified and moving through the pipeline.
  • Work closely with the Marketing department to create and present case studies for flagship projects
  • Contribute to key commercial meetings
  • Ensure successful projects are highlighted and promoted through internal and external communication channels
  • Work with architects and specifiers to influence project specifications by promoting value-added solutions, which we call OneSpec internally.
  • Pass mature project to the sales teams for final conversion into orders, ensuring a smooth handover process.
  • Promote our product solutions through CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions, networking events, and other professional development activities.
  • Provide regular progress updates to management, detailing the pipeline, key wins, and areas for development.
  • Collaborate closely with the Technical Sales and Commercial Propositions departments
  • Partner with the regional sales teams to facilitate the end-user engagement, especially with housebuilders and distributors involved in project execution

You will be an experienced specification manager with extensive knowledge of the building products or construction materials industry.

You will have a proven track record of managing projects from the specification stage to completion, ensuring consistent follow-up throughout each phase. Alongside, experience working with architects and specifiers to secure product specifications.

  • Ability to deliver professional presentations and CPD sessions to promote product solutions
  • Relevant certifications in architecture, construction, or building product specifications
  • Strong understanding of building products and the ability to communicate technical specifications effectively.
  • Experience using CRM software to track project pipelines, log activities, and report on progress (preferably SalesCloud or similar).
  • Background in sales or a commercially driven role within the construction industry.
  • Previous Experience with specification tools (such as OneSpec)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Experience working with marketing teams to create case studies or promotional material for architectural projects.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with architects, contractors, and decision-makers in the construction industry.
  • Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel across the UK & Ireland region regularly
