Description

The Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist reports to the Controller and owns all accounts payable and related processes for GivePower and its international subsidiaries in Colombia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Haiti. This role is critical for maintaining strong internal controls, timely and accurate payments, and clear communication across departments and geographies, working closely with Finance, Operations, and international team members in a fast‑paced nonprofit environment.

• Process all accounts payable, including vendor invoices, bill payments, and payment runs; assist with cash management.
• Manage RAMP corporate credit card transactions, reviewing, coding, and reconciling them.
• Process employee reimbursements through Zoho with proper documentation and approvals.
• Administer ApprovalMax workflows to ensure invoices and reimbursements are approved and documented.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts routinely.
• Perform basic general ledger reconciliations for AP, cash, and prepaid expenses.
• Assist with petty cash controls and tracking, including for international locations.
• Support payments to international employees and vendors across multiple countries and currencies.
• Communicate proactively with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues, discrepancies, or delays.
• Complete year‑end 1099s and donation tax receipts.

• 1–3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high transaction volume.
• Experience with expense management systems, credit card platforms, and approval workflows (e.g., Ramp, Zoho, ApprovalMax).
• Comfortable working with international employees, vendors, and time zones.
• Ability to reconcile accounts and independently identify discrepancies.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and build positive relationships.
• Highly organized, resourceful, and deadline‑driven in a remote environment.
• Experience in nonprofit or mission‑driven organizations (preferred).
• Exposure to multi‑entity or international accounting (preferred).
• Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems supporting AP automation (preferred).

Benefits
