Participate in value engineering projects to continually improve designs and processes.
Support the prototyping and testing of new designs, including the interpretation of test results. May be required to set up and run equipment in house.
Assist in the selection, specification, and testing of product components.

Communicate solutions for unique applications including design and special pricing.
Collaborate with the shop floor and listen to their ideas and opportunities. Prioritize and pursue the most important concerns. Assist in resolving issues as they arise.
Support the transition from design into production, including any necessary testing and training required for implementing new or changed designs.
Provide technical support via phone and e-mail for both internal and external customers including the areas of product selection and application.
Maintain accurate and current documentation on design changes and requests.
Provide content for the development and updating of product literature.
Develop new controls product designs and redesigns in coordination with sales, marketing, service, and manufacturing functions. Ensure products meet control design functionality of required points of operation and design intent.
Participate in cross functional project teams as the representative SME for Controls Engineering.
Assist in the identification of controls strategies for optimal use of product applications. Review, clarify, and validate deliverables to both internal and external customers.
Assist in presenting training seminars internally and externally.
Develop bill of materials, complete IAN, and communicate translation requirement related to new or changed designs.
Review/evaluate returned goods and determine root cause of failures and disposition of materials.
Evaluate components for quality, reliability and performance and make recommendations to engineering and purchasing.
