The Logistics & Transport Specialist is responsible for managing transportation operations, trade finance documentation and implement procurement & logistics processes to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods. This role requires close coordination with internal and external stakeholders to meet project requirements, customer commitments, and business KPIs.
We are looking for Logistics & Customs Specialist to design, organize and manage all transportation flows and solutions in order to deliver the promised service according to the logistic offer at best cost, considering customs regulations.
Analyzes and defines complete material logistics flows including multilevel subcontracting. Secures project logistics aspects considering applicable: logistics planning, packing, warehousing, handling, transportation, customs formalities, documentation, inspection, certifications, insurance. Oversee orders from supplier order registration to invoicing including supply chain management and cost allocation/control. Designing and implementing new processes that help the business by identifying efficiencies both domestically and globally, implementing procurement strategies, logistics and inventory management. Ensuring all relevant detailed information are correctly recorded to allow the accuracy of the Supply Chain reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation for customs clearance and regulatory compliance.
- Identify ways for inbound and outbound lead time reduction through carriers, flows, processes
- Work closely with Project Managers to establish monthly supply chain forecasts, execute implementation plans, manage escalations, and prioritize resolving bottleneck orders.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and respect of customs regulations & legal requirements.
- Prepare and review shipping documents in line with Letters of Credit (LC) requirements. Coordinate with banks, suppliers, accounts and internal teams to ensure timely submission of LC documents. Verify accuracy of invoices, packing lists, and other documents required for customs clearance and LC compliance.
- Select and negotiate with carriers and freight forwarders for optimal service and cost.
- Provide technical specifications of flows/ lanes to be addressed
- Manage & co-ordination of exception management - claims, late deliveries, back up plans, carrier escalations
- Daily/ weekly OTDT, OTDS-OTDC Gap follow up and communication with carriers & stakeholders
- Manage Bank Guarantees for shipments and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Closely work with accounts to resolve GIT & GR/IR disputes under RSC and ensure all Supplier invoices are reviewed, processed for GRN and paid on timely manner
- Manage the dangerous goods handling process
- Plan, organize, and monitor inbound and outbound transportation activities.
- Responsible to follow Transport performance and drive improvement actions
- Closely work with procurement in analysis of lead times/ performance and improvement suggestions
- Ensure compliance with international and local transport regulations.
- Manage all direct communication with carriers, drivers, and rack shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues
- Implement change actions with operational teams
- Preparing delivery documents and co-ordinate with warehouses, suppliers, and internal teams for seamless operations
- Help to Identify and/ or lead implementation of practical savings actions
- Implement & Maintain traceability and accuracy of logistics and transport database

- University Degree in Supply Chain & Trade / Any Bachelor’s degree with Supply Chain Experience
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management & procurement
- Strong Experience of working in SAP CS & MM Module
- Ability to adapt and work across different markets and business units
- Takes initiative and problem solver
- Export / Import control - Knowledgeable of Incoterms & logistic process
- Excellent communication skills
- Hands on experience in MS Office (Mainly MS Excel & MS PowerPoint)
- Multi-tasking and team player
- Solid knowledge of customs laws and regulations for the countries under scope
- Good knowledge on BFO case Management & I2P process.
- 5-7 Years of Experience
