The HR Director provides strategic and operational leadership for Enterprise Electrical’s human resources function across a multi-state, safety-sensitive workforce. This role sets HR strategy, ensures compliance, and builds scalable people programs that support growth, operational excellence, and a strong employee experience for both field and office populations.
Serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, the HR Director oversees employee relations, compliance, compensation and benefits strategy, talent development, HR operations, and HR team leadership. The role mitigates risk, strengthens leadership effectiveness, and aligns people strategy with business objectives in a fast‑growing electrical construction environment.
- Lead full‑service HR function for a multi‑state, field and office workforce.
- Advise executive leadership on workforce strategy, organizational design, and risk.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs for consistency and compliance.
- Manage employee relations, including investigations, performance management, disciplinary actions, terminations, and dispute resolution.
- Coach leaders on people management, documentation, compliance, and accountability.
- Foster an inclusive workplace culture aligned with company values.
- Oversee compensation philosophy, wage structures, and pay practices for hourly and salaried roles.
- Partner with finance on compensation planning, pay equity, and market analysis.
- Manage benefits vendor relationships, renewals, and open‑enrollment execution.
- Ensure accurate, timely payroll processing in partnership with Payroll.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, EEOC, ADA, ACA, etc.) and prevailing‑wage requirements.
- Oversee multi‑state employment compliance and evolving labor‑law changes.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning.
- Lead performance management, leadership development, and succession planning initiatives.
- Develop HR metrics, workforce analytics, and executive reports.
- Manage HR department budget and resource planning.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team with clear roles and performance expectations.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and scalability across HR systems.

The position is primarily office‑based with regular travel to project sites and regional offices, requiring the ability to walk job sites, climb stairs, and navigate commercial facilities. Occasional evenings or weekends may be needed for key initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8–12 years of progressive HR experience, including 3–5 years in senior HR leadership.
- Proven experience overseeing employee relations, compliance, compensation, and benefits.
- Experience supporting multi‑state, field‑based workforces; construction or safety‑sensitive background preferred.
- Expert knowledge of employment law and HR compliance.
- Strong strategic, analytical, and business acumen.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and sound judgment.
- Skilled in problem‑solving, decision‑making, and conflict resolution.
- Willingness to travel to regional operations and project sites.
- Preferred certifications: SHRM‑SCP, SPHR, PHR, CCP, CEBS, or similar.
