

Provides environmental services to industrial, energy, and government sectors.
Responsibilities include assembling, preparing, and analyzing toxicological, environmental, and human health risk data while supervising nursing and health scientist staff. The specialist oversees sampling, monitoring, and information collection for CTEH’s Toxicology and Emergency Response Program (TERP) and assists with the Workers Exposure Response Program (WERP) and employee health programs for CTEH, Montrose, and other companies. Additionally, the Medical Toxicologist prepares and presents scientific articles, journal publications, and conference presentations.
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Medicine degree from a U.S. accredited institution, an active medical license in at least one U.S. state, and board certification in medical toxicology. Board certification in occupational medicine and a Master’s in Public Health with epidemiology experience are preferred. A current driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport are required.
The role demands proficiency with Microsoft Office, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and strong verbal and written communication skills in English. The Medical Toxicologist must be able to handle a high volume of work, multitask in a fast‑paced environment, and travel frequently on short notice.
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lb repeatedly, and wearing personal protective equipment for HAZWOPER site entry, including respirators and encapsulating suits. The position may involve long shifts up to 24 hours, work in extreme weather, high altitudes, and exposure to physical and chemical hazards, as well as extended travel by non‑commercial vehicle.
