Candidates should be strong swimmers of any age and be able to work multiple days. A Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate and a First Aid certificate are required, with training provided at no cost. Applicants must also pass a swim test that includes swimming 200 m under six minutes, a 25 m sidestroke, a 50 m breaststroke, retrieving an object from the pool bottom and treading water for five minutes.
