Provide engineering support for projects involving stream restoration, ecosystem restoration, floodplain studies, permitting, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management.
Perform basic calculations to analyze and design environmental system components using specialty software packages such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, RIVERMorph, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, ArcGIS, etc.
Assist in the preparation of design concept plans, permit packages, work plans, tables, figures, hydraulic calculations, erosion and sediment control plans, and associated post-construction stormwater management plans, and present information for quality review.
Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer. This may include field surveying, geomorphic surveys, construction observation, and other field reconnaissance, etc. Travel may be required.
Drafting, computer modeling, data entry, assistance with preparation of construction plans and specifications.
Works with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer/designer.
Assist in basic interpretation and verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
Serving our customers by completing indirect tasks such as transporting equipment/tools between job sites, running samples to the appropriate laboratory, or delivering vehicles/equipment for maintenance and general office assistance.
Build and maintain productive professional and personal networking relationships within your technical team.

Relevant office or field experience is a plus. Examples: Construction Surveying, Field Surveying, Field Sampling, Drafting.
Typical field work environments require the ability to stand for extended periods of time on uneven terrain, lift and move items and equipment up to 50 pounds, and climb a ladder. Field work may include exposure to inclement weather conditions. Work assignments may be both field and office based.
Be proficient in interpreting sketches, drawings, and other similar material.
Knowledge of hydraulic/hydrologic (H&H) modeling software, including HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, RIVERMorph, AutoCAD, Civil3D, and GIS.
Understanding of water and or environmental related principles and engineering concepts, including related hydraulics and hydrologic (H&H) principles and concepts.
Experience using HEC-RAS, and AutoCAD a plus.
Valid driver’s license.
Currently pursuing or graduated with a minimum of a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preference towards students pursuing emphasis areas of Environmental, Agricultural, or Civil Engineering) with a focus on ecological engineering and/or geomorphology preferred.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Be conscientious, detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and disciplined.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Relevant co-op / internships and work experience during school will be considered.
Good driving record and valid driver's license are required.
The ability to effectively communicate ideas and opinions.
