The Ottawa, Illinois office is seeking a Civil Project Engineer. In this role you will support project managers by conducting detailed engineering analyses, drafting reports, and preparing permit applications. You will also guide Civil Design Technicians and Designers in delivering project deliverables.
Key duties include using a variety of design software to develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; coordinating with municipal, transportation, and traffic disciplines; and performing both flexible and rigid pavement designs as well as geometric site circulation layouts. You will also ensure that work packages are reviewed by peers or supervisors.
The position requires solid knowledge of civil design techniques, materials, and construction methods, along with proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for interpreting state and local design criteria and producing high‑quality construction documents.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, possess a Professional Engineer license, and have at least four years of relevant experience. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Compensation ranges from $86,000 to $108,000, with eligibility for annual bonuses and stock ownership.
