Landscape Designer

Description

• Utilize advanced computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software to produce high-quality 2D plans and 3D perspective drawings efficiently.
• Create detailed take-offs for all drawings and contribute to the development of accurate estimates within our system, supporting the sales and project management process.
• Cultivate strong relationships with high-end residential clients, understanding their needs, preferences, and translating them into unique design concepts.
• Apply extensive knowledge of plant materials, including identification and best landscape uses for specific varieties, ensuring aesthetic and plant success.
• Present design proposals with confidence and clarity, effectively communicating the vision and benefits of the proposed landscape to clients.
• Leverage Photoshop skills to create enhanced client presentations and visualize design concepts vividly, as required.
• Develop comprehensive design packages, including detailed planting plans, hardscape plans, section drawings, elevation, and captivating perspective drawings.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, vendors, and subcontractors, fostering strong working relationships and ensuring seamless project execution.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in landscape design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Structure Studios VIP3D, VIP3D, Dynascape) and Adobe Photoshop.
• Thorough understanding of outdoor construction principles and materials.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of outdoor construction techniques (grading, drainage, retaining walls, pavers, concrete, steps, pergolas, pavilions, irrigation, and turf) to inform practical and buildable designs.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in a similar Landscape Designer/Architect role, with a strong focus on high-end residential projects.
• Exceptional plant material knowledge, encompassing identification and application in various landscape contexts.
