Participate in cost/pricing reviews with executive leadership as required.
Provide input on constructability and value engineering opportunities.
Ensure adherence to company standards, client expectations, and industry codes.
Support risk analysis and contingency planning for CSA estimates.
Review estimates for accuracy and inclusion of all deliverables.
Performs own work and provides assistance to others as directed.
Prepare detailed CSA discipline estimates for all project phases (conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents).
Revises estimates when scope of project changes or other new information becomes available.
Attend bid meetings and site visits to derive a work scope, deliverables, etc. as required.
Uses various computer systems and software, including InEight Estimate and various Microsoft Products to analyze data and prepare estimate recommendations.
Interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and design documents.
Performs other responsible duties as required to support new project development and support of ongoing jobs.
Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for civil, structural, and architectural scopes.
Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to validate scope and pricing.

Willingness to work in an office environment on a 40-hour per work week schedule.
High School / equivalent education or 4-7 years of experience working in the Industrial Construction or Maintenance industry as a craft worker.(Civil Sitework related)
Ability to interact with customers, vendors and inter-company personnel on a professional level.
Ability to manage multiple estimates concurrently.
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills specifically in reading/writing as it relates to Estimating.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
Current or Former Zachry Employee.
The ability to travel for bid meetings and site visits (normally 1 to 2 days).
General understanding of subsidiary work related to sitework development. E.g. subgrade prep, finish, soil stabilization, dewatering, conversions Tons/CY, waste calculations, haul distances, cycle times, etc.
5–8 years of experience in CSA estimating within industrial construction.
The ability and willingness to work under tight time restraints.
Understand cost and productivity experience and develop cost comparison recommendations for organizational consideration and decision.
Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong knowledge of CSA systems, codes, and industry standards.
Knowledge AutoCad and Bluebeam software.
Ability to work in a group environment and willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.
Can manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities in a logical, methodical manner.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Passed the Engineering in Training (EIT) exam or Professional Engineer.
General understanding of Geotech reports and soil conditions and how they affect sitework development.
Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
Strong negotiation skills with subcontractors and vendors.
Understands estimate types (Lump Sum, T&M, Fixed Fee, Budgetary, Unit Rates, Unit Price).
Ability to compile material and labor take-offs and solicit/evaluate pricing from vendors and suppliers.
