The engineer will be responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of security system projects, coordinating with sales, commissioning staff and clients to ensure seamless implementation and successful system acceptance.
- Design and deliver advanced CCTV and Access Control systems for new builds and upgrades.
- Support sales with technical input, conduct site surveys, and participate in system acceptance testing.
- Produce detailed schematics, parts lists, specifications, schedules, and wiring/equipment layouts.
- Perform technical calculations (network bandwidth, power, heat dissipation) ensuring compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with commissioning engineers and stakeholders to ensure seamless system setup remotely, in‑office, or on‑site.

Lead Design Engineer – Security Systems (Cambridge) – We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer with a strong background in CCTV and Access Controls to lead the design and delivery of cutting‑edge security solutions. The role involves protecting people and property through innovative technology in a dynamic environment.
Candidates must have proven experience in the security sector, particularly with CCTV and access control technologies, and possess deep knowledge of IP and analogue components, networking, VMS/ACS platforms and related protocols.
- Proven experience with CCTV and Access Control in the security industry.
- Strong knowledge of IP and analogue CCTV components and Access Control systems.
- Expertise in IP networking, copper, fibre, wireless communications, and PC server/client architecture.
- Familiarity with leading VMS and ACS platforms such as C‑Cure, Lenel, Genetec, and Synergy.
- Bonus: experience with intruder, BMS systems, and legacy protocols (RS232, RS485).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, flexible, able to manage multiple projects.
