Additionally, the role demands monitoring industry trends, competitor activities, and project developments to supply market intelligence to marketing and product teams.
This role seeks a highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive business development and sales growth for wire and cable solutions across Western Canada. The focus is on building relationships with EPCs, contractors, and end users in key industrial sectors such as oil & gas, mining, utilities, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with consultative selling skills and an established network of industry contacts.
Qualifications include a degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field, and over 15 years of technical sales experience in wire & cable, electrical products, or industrial solutions. The candidate must have a proven track record of selling to and through EPCs and large industrial accounts, along with an established network of industry contacts. Essential skills are strong technical aptitude, the ability to interpret specifications, excellent communication, negotiation and presentation abilities, and self‑starting territory management. The role requires extensive travel throughout Western Canada (approximately 30‑50%) and familiarity with CRM tools, project tracking systems, virtual collaboration platforms, and strong organizational capabilities to manage pipelines and reporting independently.
