Delivery consultants & construction experts transforming visions into built reality.
The successful candidate will lead the development of climate‑change, sustainability and social‑value strategies for individual projects, ensuring agreed outcomes are achieved. They will act as a technical sustainability expert, championing innovation in areas such as waste, energy, water or responsible sourcing, while also providing generalist support across all major sustainability issues with stakeholders.
In addition to project work, the role supports bid development, client liaison and raises Mace’s external profile in sustainability services. The individual will contribute to positioning Mace as a leader in climate change and sustainability.
The person will champion sustainability throughout the organisation, develop and communicate innovation and best practice, adapt EMS practices across areas, and support business‑savvy bid activities. Building positive relationships with clients, design teams, contractors, sub‑contractors and regulators is also required.
Applicants must possess extensive knowledge of sustainable building design, including embodied and operational carbon and NZC strategies, and a proven track record of guiding design teams to maximise environmental benefits. Expertise in at least one sustainability discipline, strong communication skills to translate technical topics for non‑technical audiences, and the ability to represent Mace at forums and client meetings are essential.
Mace is an inclusive employer welcoming diverse candidates and encourages applications even if all criteria are not met. Flexible, part‑time and hybrid working options are available where suitable, and the Employee Referral Scheme invites staff to recommend talented professionals.
