Within ScottishPower's corporate training business, you will focus on electrical distribution fitting events and deliver a variety of craft skills across business units. You will provide initial and refresher courses that support each operating plan, working with a training group to ensure high‑quality, safe, and cost‑effective delivery.
Key responsibilities include analysing technical training needs, developing and evaluating training plans, supporting product and technique development, designing operational safety programmes, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation. You will monitor delivery methods, achieve training objectives, and make effective use of diverse learning solutions.
The ideal candidate has recognized experience as a fitting craftsman covering switchgear installation, plant maintenance and protection systems, and possesses knowledge of ScottishPower's business processes, engineering standards and electrical authorisation policies. Minimum criteria require electrical fitting experience on distribution networks and the confidence to deliver craft and technical courses to staff working safely in the electricity supply industry.
The role of Fitting Craft Trainer is based at Hoylake House in Wirral, with travel to other ScottishPower sites as needed. Salary ranges from £42,000 to £52,000, includes an annual bonus of up to 10% and single‑person healthcare, and offers a flexible 37‑hour working pattern.
