Caterpillar Global Mining is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in CNC programming, 5‑axis machining, and lean manufacturing to support its South Milwaukee facility. The role involves developing CNC programs to machine large mining components such as structures, frames, gears, and shafts, operating metal‑cutting equipment, and using CAM software to generate precise G & M code.
Ideal candidates will have a degree or equivalent experience, strong proficiency in CNC machining and turning (including 5‑axis), experience with offline CNC programming and simulation tools, and expertise in CAD/CAM software such as GibbsCam, NXCam, or Vericut. Additional qualifications include 3D modeling skills (Creo/ProE or SolidWorks), knowledge of cutting‑tool technologies, a solid understanding of lean manufacturing, experience managing projects with structured methodologies, familiarity with NPI processes, and the ability to lead cross‑functional teams across engineering, quality, and supply‑chain functions.
