Senior Building Envelope Engineer / Architect / Consultant

Description

• Conduct quality assurance inspections to verify compliance with design documents, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards.
• Perform visual surveys, moisture assessments, pre-design evaluations, and property condition assessments.
• Lead forensic investigations into building enclosure and roofing failures or performance issues.
• Conduct peer reviews of architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals with a focus on building enclosure systems.
• Occasionally perform field testing of roofing, waterproofing, window, and curtainwall systems in accordance with ASTM, AAMA, TAS, and ANSI standards.
• Design remedial roofing and envelope solutions for existing facilities.
• Prepare detailed technical reports documenting findings, testing results, and recommendations.
• Manage projects and provide technical oversight for building enclosure, roofing, and facility-related assignments.

Requirements

NOVA Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Building Enclosure Consultant for our growing Central Florida operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional based in either the Orlando or Tampa, FL metro areas who thrives in a dynamic consulting environment and is passionate about building science and envelope performance.

• Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC)
• Ability to perform work in outdoor temperature extremes
• Ability/certification to operate a mechanical boom lift, or willingness to become certified in operation.
• Proven ability to identify and resolve issues related to constructability, integration, durability, thermal performance, and maintenance of building envelopes.
• Professional licensure as an Engineer or Architect preferred but not required.
• Strong technical knowledge of building construction and envelope systems.
• Ability to lift equipment up to 50lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders .
• Certified Infrared Thermographer (CIT)
• Ability to occasionally overnight travel in and out of state.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Registered Roof Consultant (RRC)
• Registered Roof Observer (RRO)
• Highly desirable certifications:
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in building enclosure and roofing consulting.
