Setting vision and goals: You contribute to defining a clear vision on material management with upper management and setting achievable goals for your teams ensuring everyone is aligned within the actions to perform.
Documentation: You maintain and lead the maintenance of comprehensive material records, including receipts, issuances, and transfers, and generate/oversee reports for management and audit purposes.
Inspection and material Quality Control: If you are involved in the material reception process, you verify and lead the verification of the quality and specifications of incoming materials. You conduct and lead inspections and address any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
Material Replenishment: If you are involved in the material replenishment process, you initiate the demand and the replenishment tasks. You coordinate replenishment or material transfer processes to avoid shortages and surplus.
Compliance: You ensure adherence to relevant safety, environmental, and industry regulations in all material-related activities.
Material Movement: You keep records of the in and out stock movements. You initiate, treat and coordinate the demand of transfer and move of material between storage locations. You handle the distribution of materials, supplies, and equipment based on incoming requests and orders.
As Lead Material Controller, your core responsibility is to lead the material control activities and teams to maintain the flow of materials required for projects and for the operations. Your role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and effective management of materials and inventory to support uninterrupted project and operations’ execution. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and coordination with multiple departments to support project timelines and operational excellence.
Inventory Management: You maintain and lead accurate counting and records of material in stock. You oversee material handling, storage, and preservation to prevent damage, loss, or deterioration of materials. You ensure that the storage areas are kept clean and organized.
Mentoring: As Lead, you guide and mentor your team members, helping them develop their skills and reach their potential, providing feedback and growth opportunities supporting their development. You conduct regular audits to ensure processes are respected physically and within the Information Systems.
Coordination: You maintain good communication with the yard, the warehouse or cargo teams with regards to equipment that requires additional coordination from them.
Material Planning: You track material consumption, and you collaborate with Projects, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams to support the material requirement forecast and to develop effective material planning strategies. You support the identification of potential material shortages, bottlenecks, and supply chain risks. You support the implementation of proactive measures to mitigate risks and develop contingency plans to address unexpected challenges.

Proven track record in material control or inventory management within the oil and gas industry or a similar sector.
Strong attention to detail to maintain accurate records and comply with industry standards.
Very strong experience in warehouse management systems and inventory tracking tool. Knowledge of ERP systems and data analysis tools being preferable.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize material usage and reduce waste.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Very good understanding of the Procurement / Supply Chain processes.
Good knowledge of materials used in oil and gas operations, including equipment and spare parts, and industry specific regulations.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate.
Bachelor's degree in Stock Management, Supply chain, or Logistics Management.
