Provide safety leadership through the implementation of the Bird Safety Program and the monitoring of the safety performance of the project team and subcontractors.
Administration and management of prime contract and subcontracts associated with Mechanical and Electrical Scope of Work; includes negotiation and awarding of subcontracts for scopes of work, as well as review and evaluation of subcontractor performance.
Supervision and development of project team members through regular feedback, training and coaching; timely completion of performance evaluations.
Planning, scheduling, setting objectives, and controlling activities during the construction phase of a project(s) in conjunction with the Project Superintendent and Project Team.
Assist in the preparation and negotiation of mechanical and electrical subcontracts.
Assist with the preparation of ongoing cost estimates and the preparation of the overall Mechanical and Electrical budget as part of the overall project cost during the preconstruction phase of a project
Foster and maintain positive relations and communication with clients, engineering consultants, architects, and trade partners.
Collaborate with associated Engineering consultants for design deliverables and ensure Owner requirements are met and adhered to
Assist with project budget and billings and work with accounting to ensure timely payment of A/R and A/P.
Assist with the optimizations of mechanical and electrical design drawings through the progression of the project Design and construction phases.
Prepare, implement, and manage of project Commissioning Plan in conjunction with Trade Partners, the project Commissioning Agent, and consultant/engineering teams.
Monthly and quarterly reporting on financial and overall performance of the project to Senior Management.

Your demonstrated leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills support your collaborative approach to delivering results and developing team members.
Completed education in a construction-related discipline as well as demonstrated, progressive experience in General Contracting, direct project management of large institutional or commercial projects.
Institutional and commercial construction background.
5-10 years’ experience in the construction industry working with contractors with relevant work experience in a similar role.
Service and results-oriented, you are able to build and steward trust with a broad network of professional colleagues, subcontractors and team members to effect competitive excellence, pride in teamwork and outstanding project delivery.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office, including MS Project; experience with the Viewpoint Project Management system will be considered an asset.
Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, workforce management, project execution, cost control, quality, and administration.
Gold Seal, LEED, and Sustainability Training will be considered an asset.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
A strong leader and problem-solver, you can build and steward trust with clients, subcontractors, and team members to effect competitive excellence and pride in teamwork with outstanding project delivery.
Experience working on collaborative construction contracts (i.e, Progressive Design Build, Alliance, IPD) will be considered an asset
A degree and/or related trade experience in building mechanical and electrical systems is required.
In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and how they integrate with construction elements. Experience with district energy / combined cooling, heating, and power systems is considered an asset.
Experience in using BIM models will be considered an asset.
