The Battery Storage Facility Site Manager (Operations) will be responsible for the physical and financial performance of a new Battery Energy Storage System near Brooks, Alberta. The role requires regular on‑site presence, occasional remote work, and travel within Alberta, across provinces, and potentially internationally.
Key duties include developing and enforcing site‑specific health, safety, and environmental plans, overseeing construction walkdowns and commissioning, managing market registration, and ensuring compliance with grid and market rules. The manager will also lead O&M activities, create work orders, monitor asset performance, and handle contract, budget, and stakeholder management to optimize operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is strategic, decisive, and diligent, with strong communication skills and a collaborative, self‑starting attitude. They must balance operational risks with business optimization, drive continuous improvement, and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Applicants should have at least five years of power‑generation operations experience, with a P.Eng, CET, or similar technical designation preferred. Demonstrated leadership, technical knowledge of balance‑of‑plant equipment, commercial contract experience, budgeting ability, and a solid safety and regulatory compliance background are required.
