Logistics Engineer

Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.

• Support Strategy & Risk Management: Identify key support drivers, assess risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Systems Engineering Integration: Bridge ILS practices with broader Systems Engineering concepts.
• LSAR Assurance Leadership: Lead assurance activities for the Logistics Support Analysis Record and related artefacts.
• Contract Oversight & Feedback: Review deliverables and offer expert recommendations for improvement and compliance.
• ILS & Asset Management Expertise: Provide authoritative guidance on first-principles ILS and ISO55000-based asset management.

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.

• Systems Engineering & DOORS Training: Formal training in Systems Engineering and DOORS tools (desirable).
• RAM & LCC Modelling Expertise: Ability to assess acquisition impacts on sustainment using RAM and Life Cycle Cost modelling.
• Industry Standards Application: Experience applying standards like S3000L and ISO55000 series to deliver cost savings and capability improvements.
• Asset Management Qualifications: Degree or Certificate-level qualifications in Asset Management or Systems Engineering (mandatory/desirable).
• Defence & Reliability Engineering Experience: Proven application of Asset Management, Reliability Engineering, or LSA in Defence or similar industries.
