You’ll join the team that keeps automation projects moving by partnering with system integrators and manufacturers to ensure flawless operation. Typical duties include supporting data‑center startups, performing on‑site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, and leading startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems. You’ll work with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate their systems on‑site, providing clear communication and updates to customers and project teams. Travel rotations follow a days‑on/days‑off schedule such as 5‑on/2‑off, 10‑on/4‑off, or 14‑on/7‑off, exposing you to new challenges and locations.
For those who’d rather be on the move than behind a desk, we’re opening our 2026 hiring pipeline now for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who love travel, hands‑on work, and being part of a team that actually knows your name. If you can laugh through flight delays, figure things out on the fly, and enjoy solving complex problems, this could be a perfect fit. We believe in transparency, and our four‑week paid training is designed to prepare technically skilled individuals for the field. Success in training requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, so candidates new to these areas may not be the right fit.
You’ll experience new cities, tackle unique projects, and earn travel rewards while working directly with customers across North America. There is no office to report to, and you’ll be away from home during assignments. The role blends field work with continual movement, giving you a dynamic work environment.
We seek candidates who love travel and are willing to be away from home on rotation, with logistics handled by us. Preferred experience includes working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, as well as adaptability, grit, strong communication, and problem‑solving skills. You must live within 50 miles of a major airport, have a personal vehicle within 45 days of employment, be authorized to work in the U.S., and hold a technical degree or equivalent 3+ years of hands‑on experience in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering. Physical abilities to walk long distances, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lb, and work in varied environments are essential.
The role requires walking long distances across large facilities, climbing ladders or stairs, and lifting, carrying, or moving up to 50 lb. You may need to stand, kneel, or reach for extended periods and work in construction sites, outdoors, and hot or cold conditions. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
Starting salary ranges from $60,000 to $75,000, depending on location, education, and experience. You’ll also receive per‑diem for meals, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses. Beyond compensation, we emphasize trust, teamwork, and knowing every person by name.
We invest in your development through paid training, annual merit raises, and a 5 % salary increase after six months. You can learn, advance, and build a career that can take you in multiple directions. Even if you eventually move on, ProAutomated will be your biggest cheerleader.
Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, a matching 401(k), short‑ and long‑term disability, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months. We take care of you on and off the job. Flexibility allows you to balance work with personal needs.
We’re a smaller, people‑first company where teamwork, adaptability, and humor are core values. All leaders have grown into their positions, so your manager has lived the experience they ask of you. You’ll be surrounded by colleagues who hold each other to high standards and have your back.
If you want a challenging, travel‑filled career where your effort matters, we’d love to meet you.
