Key duties include moving and parking a range of vehicles, acting as the voice of the landside operation at car‑park barriers, being the smiling face of the meet‑and‑greet office, operating car‑park booking systems and specialised equipment, and delivering an effortless travel experience regardless of weather conditions.
As passenger numbers rise, the Landside Operations team is expanding and seeks candidates with excellent customer‑service skills, a willingness to work outdoors in all weather, and a passion for vehicles. The team manages 170 000 vehicle movements and 15 000 car‑parking spaces.
You must be flexible to work a 24/7 operation, which includes night shifts, early mornings from 03:00 am, late shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
Success requires a careful, experienced driver with a manual UK licence held for at least two years and no more than three penalty points, strong customer‑service abilities, basic computer skills, the ability to work outdoors in any weather, and a genuine passion for cars, comfortable driving both manual and automatic vehicles.
Car Parks Support Assistant – Annualised, full‑time permanent role working an average of 21 hours a week. East Midlands Airport connects over 4 million passengers to more than 80 European destinations, supports over 6 000 jobs and generates around £300 million for the region each year.
The role is on a permanent annualised contract paid for 21 hours each week. During peak periods you may work additional hours (e.g., 31 hours in summer) but will still be paid for 21 hours; in quieter periods hours are reduced accordingly, with pay remaining consistent.
