You’ll help keep automation projects moving by supporting data‑center startups and performing on‑site mechanical, electrical, and control checks. You’ll lead startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems in industries such as food and beverage. You’ll partner with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate their systems on‑site. Finally, you’ll provide clear communication and updates to customers and project teams.
For those who’d rather be on the move than behind a desk, we’re opening our 2026 hiring pipeline for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who love travel, hands‑on work, and being part of a team that actually knows your name. If you can laugh through flight delays, figure things out on the fly, and enjoy solving complex problems, this role could be a perfect fit.
We’re looking for candidates who love travel and can be away from home on rotation, with a working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. Adaptability, grit, strong communication, and problem‑solving skills are essential, and you must live within 50 mi of a major airport, have a personal vehicle, and be authorized to work in the U.S.
A technical degree or equivalent hands‑on experience (3+ years) in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering is required. Physical requirements include walking long distances, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lb, and working in varied environments; reasonable accommodations are available.
We value transparency, so our four‑week paid training prepares technically skilled individuals for field work. Success in training requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, so candidates lacking experience in these areas may not be ready.
You’ll combine work with travel, experiencing new cities, tackling unique projects, and earning travel rewards while working directly with customers across North America. There is no office to report to, and you’ll be away from home while you’re on assignment.
Starting salary ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 depending on location, education, and experience, plus per‑diem for meals, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses. We may not have endless budgets, but we offer endless trust, teamwork, and appreciation of knowing every person by name.
We invest in your development through paid training, annual merit raises, and a 5 % salary increase after six months. You’ll learn, advance, and build a career that can take you in multiple directions, with ProAutomated as your biggest cheerleader.
Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, a matching 401(k), short‑ and long‑term disability options, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months. We take care of you on and off the job.
Typical travel rotations follow a days‑on & off schedule (5 on‑2 off, 10 on‑4 off, or 14 on‑7 off), bringing new challenges and locations each project. You’ll work with a variety of customers, gaining real‑world experience with massive companies while being supported by the ProAutomated team.
