The operator is responsible for running the coater at peak efficiency, controlling the latex adhesive and pre‑coat process through the LCS HMI, and ensuring proper application. They must verify that the carpet is dry at the correct back temperature before it proceeds. Additionally, they set coater speed, operate the main tenter and end‑dam guides, and continuously monitor all coater alarms.
Physical duties include frequent reaching, handling, standing, stooping, and climbing steps, while working amid typical industrial noise, dirt, humidity and temperature variations. Employees are required to participate in group stretching before each shift. Clear communication with line coworkers and promptly alerting supervisors to equipment issues are essential.
The role carries authority to report safety problems and to ensure the quality and safety of both personal and coworker output. Extreme caution must be exercised when changing tenter brushes.
