Production Shift Supervisor

Keep up with current and developing engineering trends. Undertake special projects as required.
Identify and address any production or equipment issues that may arise during the fabrication process.
Oversee installation of machinery and equipment.
Oversee and coordinate daily fabrication operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
Undertake continuous training and development.
Carry out FMEAs, (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) process documentation and implement improvements. Implement Poka-Yoke (error proofing) where possible to prevent errors.
Maintain detailed records of production activities, inspections, and quality checks.
Coordinate with the Production engineer to ensure material availability and minimize production delays.
Support and lead continuous improvement, problem solving and process improvement activities.
Ensure proper inventory management of raw materials and finished products.
Ensure all products meet the specifications and quality standards set by the company.
Plan and organize maintenance. Respond to breakdowns. Report down time and possible trends.
Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients.
Assist with shop floor layout and cell designs. Develop fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks.
Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions.
Work with engineering and quality control teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure continuous improvement.
Organize plant start-up and shut-down schedules to ensure minimum loss of production time.
Investigate production and process issues providing technical support and training.
Generating production documentation such as assembly Work instructions. Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and work instructions.
Provide hands-on training to new employees and assist in their development.
Conduct regular inspections of the fabrication process and finished goods to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Design new processes and provide facilities & methods to ensure the cost-effective integration of new products or for the improvement of existing ones into manufacturing operations.
Manage the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Lead a team of production workers, providing guidance and support as needed.
Assign tasks to production workers, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and time.
Ensure Quality with continuous follow-ups with production team.
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout Remove waste from the processes.
Quality control of work by appropriate reviews.
Produce written reports and make presentations.
Foster a positive working environment and ensure that safety practices are always followed.
Ensure product and process quality meets the specifications required.
Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
Ensure all fabrication activities are carried out efficiently and in accordance with safety protocols.
Monitor and control shift production activities. Achieve given shift production targets with right Quality.

In-depth knowledge of fabrication processes, machinery, and materials.
A full understanding of the requirements of running production shifts, such as health and safety and security requirements to include certification of dangerous goods handling and aviation security.

Demonstrable experience of running shifts production, preferably in the Manufacturing, automotive industry.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Graduate.
Proven 7-10 years of experience as a Production Supervisor.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Team player with strong organizational skills.
Proven experience in a Production role, preferably within an automotive or steel fabrication manufacturing environment.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Knowledge of various processes from Fabrication, Product Assembly, Plating etc.
