Senior Estimator

Description

• Produce comprehensive quantity takeoffs for metal framing, gypsum board assemblies, acoustical ceilings, and related interior scopes.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing for both negotiated and hard-bid opportunities.
• Represent the company in meetings, presentations, and client discussions as needed, including travel between Orlando and Tampa.
• Maintain accurate cost history, production rates, and pricing data for use in future bids.
• Build and sustain relationships with suppliers, trade partners, general contractors, and clients.
• Coordinate with operations teams to ensure estimates reflect current field practices and realistic manpower expectations.
• Provide guidance to junior estimators and contribute to team training and development.
• Participate in pre-bid evaluations, site walks, RFI preparation, and proposal development.
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to determine scope requirements, special conditions, and potential risks.

Requirements

A growing commercial Drywall subcontractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to take a lead role in pricing and developing proposals for metal framing, drywall, and interior systems projects. This position is ideal for someone who brings strong technical expertise, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and can deliver accurate and competitive estimates on schedule. The Senior Estimator will also support ongoing client relationships and help advance business development efforts in the Central Florida market.

Location: Orlando, FL (with periodic travel to Tampa for client and project meetings)

• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Advanced analytical, mathematical, and organizational abilities.
• 5 to 10 years of estimating experience in commercial metal framing, drywall, or interior construction systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Computer-based work for extended periods of time will be required
• Ability to mentor and support team development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and client interaction.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative preconstruction team.

• Position is based in Orlando with routine travel to the Tampa area
• Ability to work on multiple estimates simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency with digital takeoff and estimating software (such as On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, or The Edge).
• High attention to detail and accuracy
