Work closely with engineers, scientists, and other team members to solve complex engineering problems and achieve project milestones
Prioritizes and ensures safety of oneself and others
Assist in research projects, exploring innovative solutions to enhance reactor safety, performance, and efficiency

Overall Analysis support such as Piping and Layout Analysis and Thermal Design and Rapid Technology Development Analysis
Support validation of models through comparison with experimental or reference data to ensure accuracy and reliability
Communicating with others to exchange information
Perform data analysis and modeling tasks related to your focus area, such as radiation transport, thermal hydraulics, structural analysis, or computational fluid dynamics
Contribute to the design, development, and testing of tools, infrastructures, and methods crucial for the safety and performance analysis of the Hermes Reactor and KP-X
Reporting issues with equipment or unsafe conditions
Accessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned

Document your work, prepare technical reports, and present findings to the team to support decision-making and knowledge transfer

Exposure to physics-based modeling (e.g., neutronics, thermal hydraulics, structural mechanics, CFD) through coursework or research.
Self-starter, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
Core Design (Radiation Transport and Shielding Design, Radiation Detection, Reactor Physics (Neutronics and Thermal Hydraulics), and Fuel Cycle Analysis)
High-concentration, demanding and fast-paced
Proficiency in Microsoft Office application (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Wearing proper PPE, to include face mask, face shields, gloves, safety shoes
Proficiency in relevant technical areas, including data analysis, computational modeling, and engineering software. Familiarity with coding and simulation tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or specialized software) is a plus.
Current student enrolled and pursuing Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering Science, Chemical Engineering or related field
Demonstrated application of technical skills outside of classroom setting through laboratory, research, extracurricular projects, personal projects, or prior internship/work experience is highly preferred
Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) Methods and Analysis
Proven team player with excellent verbal, written communication/presentation, and interpersonal skills
