Support project managers and field leads in various natural resources surveys, including wetland delineations, wildlife surveys, and botanical surveys.
Adheres to the safety program and looks out for the safety of others, promptly communicating and mitigating safety hazards.
Conduct fieldwork across office locations and nearby states, sometimes involving extended hikes either independently or with colleagues.
Engage in office tasks such as data clean-up, reporting, and other activities to support the Natural Resources team.

Good communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software.
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, execute tasks effectively, and adapt to shifting priorities.
This position will require up to 50%-75% fieldwork, including spending extended (up to two weeks) periods in field locations.
Applicants that are pursuing a Master's degree will also be considered. Ph.D. candidates are not eligible through this program.
Ability to drive or learn to drive ATVs, UTVS, and other off-road vehicles and haul trailers.
Familiarity with GPS devices, digital data collection, and mapping software like ArcGIS.
Experience with natural resources field work (e.g., environmental, natural, water, biological, ecological, etc.) through classwork, honors thesis or Capstone projects, professional/intern experience, or volunteer work.
Ability and willingness to learn new survey and monitoring techniques and protocols.
Technical writing experience.
Applicants must have valid driver’s license and be able to meet SWCA’s driver requirements.
Currently enrolled juniors or seniors pursuing a bachelor's degree in an environmental or natural resources-related field, or recent graduates within 12 months of May 1, 2026.
Ability to travel, walk, and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather and rugged terrain, with the capacity to carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
