

Designs and delivers innovative architectural, planning, and consulting solutions across sectors.
Interns will support the LEED Design and Construction credit process for core & shell, new construction and interior projects, document and coordinate credits for GBCI review, and engage project teams in embodied carbon assessments for interiors and whole buildings.
They will also participate in client and design team work sessions to advise on sustainable product selection, contribute to daylight modeling, energy analysis and resource efficiency studies using Climate Studio, and research federal, state and local regulations and incentives.
Candidates must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in sustainable building, architecture, engineering, interiors or a related field, have completed at least three undergraduate years or one graduate year, and possess basic knowledge of sustainability, wellness and resilience concepts as well as familiarity with green‑building rating systems and performance‑analysis tools.
Technical experience with building performance simulation software (e.g., ClimateStudio, Ladybug/Honeybee, Sefaira), life‑cycle analysis tools (e.g., Tally, Oneclick, EC3), Rhino, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Cloud is highly recommended, along with a portfolio demonstrating design process and strong written and verbal communication skills.
The company offers a paid Summer Climate Action Internship within its Climate Action & Sustainability team, running full‑time from June 2 to August 7 2026, on‑site at Gensler offices.
