Tasks

-Contribute to a LEAN project aimed at improving safety or environmental processes, culminating in a presentation to company leaders -Assist in the development and delivery of employee safety training and toolbox talks -Review and maintain environmental compliance records, such as hazardous material handling and waste disposal documentation -Participate in Book Club assignments to build leadership and communication skills -Collect, track, and analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement -Assist EHS staff in conducting safety inspections and job hazard analyses at active electrical construction sites -Help ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies -Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning -Participate in the review and preparation of Job Safety Plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and Safety Inspection Reports

What You Bring

Desired Majors: Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering w/ a safety or environmental focus -We’re looking for students who have shown solid academic performance — at least a 3.0 GPA in upper-division courses for your major, or a 2.75 GPA overall. -We are looking for humble and hungry, agile students who have a drive for results, a desire to learn, and who can quickly build relationships. -Exceptional communication skills, interest, and enthusiasm related to electrical engineering and/or construction. -Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research, or engineering internships. -Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation on or before August 2027 -We are looking for students who are passionate about engineering and the construction industry. -Ability to work full-time for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 -Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations. -Hands-On Experience: Field and office-based work on safety and environmental compliance -Skill Development: Training in safety auditing, compliance reporting, and hazard recognition -Must be able to relocate to Bakersfield, CA or Fresno, CA for the entirety of the internship.

Pay range: Pay Range: $16.00/hr. - $22.00/hr. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Over the course of this 10-week summer program, you will work directly with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) professionals to learn how safety culture is built, maintained, and continuously improved across our projects.
