You are comfortable using your own judgement when managing uncertainty and technical risk.
Degree qualified mechanical engineer, or other relevant qualification.
Experience operating engineering software for production of 3D CAD models, drawings, calculations, and Finite Element Analysis models.
Experience in writing, checking, and reviewing technical reports and documentation e.g., design calculations, basis of design, safety case reports, design reports.
Previous experience of working in the UK nuclear industry, or another highly regulated industry, would be an advantage.
Experience in the design and/or substantiation of mechanical equipment, which could include mechanical handling systems, machinery, test rigs, or mechanical components.
Experience working within design codes, standards and regulations typical for the engineering industry e.g., ASME, Eurocodes, BS EN13001, RCC-M, machinery directive, HS&E legislation.
Chartered or incorporated with a relevant professional institute (e.g., IMechE), or approaching application for registration.
