Verifies allocated materials and tools are available for production;
Performs all aspects of KRONOS timekeeping duties, such as vacation, PTO, scheduled hours worked and overtime approval;
Coaches team members to meet Quality, Safety, Velocity, and Cost metrics;
Works with cross functional team to set up proper and safe procedures for work being performed;
Complies with all PRS and OSHA safety procedures and makes sure employees do the same; proactively audits work areas and employees to continuously improve safety;
Compiles daily/weekly/monthly metrics;
Supervises daily production manufacturing of Progress Rail products;
Determines overtime needs, determines priorities when resources are limited;
Produces work orders for tasks to be completed;
Performs ABBS Audits, 5S Audits, RCCA, CAPA, and coordinates manpower and safety meetings to ensure compliance;
Maintains team files for employee safety certifications, performance reviews and disciplinary documentation;
Emphasizes goals to cross functional team to ensure they are being met; monitors output levels and adjusts accordingly;
Sets up production schedule and assigns employee daily work schedules;
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to maximize efficiency;
Issues corrective guidance and / or disciplinary actions when warranted/needed;

Some college/associates degree preferred, but not required; may be offset by experience;
Training in Lean Manufacturing and Auditing preferred;
3-5+ years of experience working as a lead in a machine tool environment; supervisory or management experience in warehousing and/or manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral;
Understanding of company policies and documentation use and storage.
Ability to read precision instruments and gauges; ability to work from blueprints and technical drawings;
Strength – Position typically involves oversight in an industrial environment. Frequent standing, sitting, and walking. Occasional light to medium-level lifting (up to 30 pounds);
Basic computer knowledge and skills to understand systematic work;
Motion – Position regularly requires standard motions associated with leading and demonstrating in an industrial environment. Frequent reaching, handling, grasping, carrying, pulling. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching;
Vision/Hearing Requirements – Constant verbal communications, including both talking and hearing;
3-5+ years of experience working as a lead in a machine tool environment; supervisory or management experience in warehousing and/or manufacturing environment;
Requires a thorough knowledge of production shop floor, including machine shop operations, equipment, and processes, plus familiarity with materials and quality objectives;
Knowledge of establishing and maintaining a safe work environment; strong focus and prioritization on team safety
Supervisor and/or Manager training; ability to work together in a team environment; ability to manage a diverse workforce; understanding of how to adjust build schedules and flex personnel as needed throughout the business day; understanding of HR policies and how to apply them in certain situations;
