The Senior Buyer will manage purchasing award summaries, develop commodity‑team strategies aligned with global purchasing and logistics goals, and create sourcing lists while monitoring supplier performance. Responsibilities also include resolving pricing, invoicing and contract issues, negotiating terms and annual contracts, and analyzing supplier cost data against competitors. The role supports cost‑saving initiatives, implements standardized digital processes, and forecasts annual material volumes, savings, tooling and repair budgets.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Materials Management, Business Finance, or a related field. They need at least five years of experience in procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management (or nine years without a degree) and must be able to travel domestically and internationally on a limited basis.
Preferred candidates will have a track record of handling confidential matters with discretion, strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and deep knowledge of purchasing practices and complex financial analysis. Additional assets include the ability to interpret engineering documents, strong organizational and communication abilities, self‑starting independence, familiarity with production planning and SAP, specific knowledge of off‑highway diesel engine commodities, an engineering or technical degree, and German language proficiency.
