The Electrical Shift Engineer is an integrated member of the engineering shift team responsible for the inspection, operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and associated assets within critical facilities and data centres, with a primary focus on risk management and service‑delivery quality.
In this role you will lead planned, corrective and reactive electrical maintenance, issue permits to work, coordinate specialist vendor visits, provide shift‑relief coverage, accurately record work orders, and communicate handover reports. You will also participate in health‑and‑safety activities, liaise with the supply chain for components, and drive continuous improvement of safe work systems.
Candidates should have at least five years of experience in critical environments such as banking headquarters or data centres, an electrical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, and preferably HVAC and mechanical engineering experience. Strong communication, IT and report‑writing skills, the ability to work calmly under pressure, and a proactive attitude are essential.
