Global leader in electrification, automation and digitization for industries, infrastructure and buildings.
Field Service Representatives (FSRs) play a critical role by collaborating with customers, teammates, and third‑party partners to assemble, start up, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on both Schneider‑manufactured and third‑party equipment. The role is site‑based with a 40‑hour guarantee plus overtime, and most work occurs at customer locations. Schneider provides service vehicles, tools, uniforms, mobile devices, and laptops for daily use, and offers direct product training on digital and physical tools.
A typical day includes pre‑site preparation, equipment startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modifications. FSRs solve problems alongside customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and district service teams while completing service reports, expense reports, and data sheets. Continuous learning is supported through classroom and on‑the‑job training, and complex escalated issues are resolved with managers or regional service directors.
Additional duties may involve regional or countrywide travel, including overnight trips, assisting senior technicians, supporting project managers on large system start‑ups, and collaborating with larger FSR teams on high‑complexity projects. FSRs may also act on behalf of the District Service Manager to resolve operational issues as needed.
Candidates should have an Associate’s degree, trade or vocational certification, military training, or equivalent experience in electrical‑related fields, and be able to read blueprints and schematics. Required knowledge includes AC and DC power principles, UPS systems, power distribution, and automatic transfer switches. At least two years of field service repair and customer service experience with UPS or related equipment, strong safety practices (including lock‑out/tag‑out), and the ability to identify and report hazards are essential. Preferred qualifications include NFPA‑70E or OSHA experience, safe driving skills, and proficiency with test and diagnostic equipment. The role demands physical stamina for lifting up to 40 lb, working in extreme weather, standing for long periods, and operating in confined spaces, as well as strong written communication and basic Microsoft Office skills.
The position offers a compensation range of $66,000 to $99,000 per year, which includes base pay and a short‑term incentive. Pay within this range is determined by performance, knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education. Schneider Electric also provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, flexible work arrangements, paid family leave, 401(k) matching, well‑being programs, holidays, paid time off, stock purchase opportunities, and military leave benefits.
New hires receive an intensive onboarding experience, beginning with eight weeks of in‑person training at Schneider’s state‑of‑the‑art facility in Dallas, Texas, with all expenses covered. After each training visit, employees continue online learning and are paired with a local mentor for on‑the‑job guidance, ensuring a smooth transition into the role.
