Summer Intern, Structural Integrity

Description

• Assist with managing Facility Condition Survey program and operating major works program, specifically, budgeting, schedules, scope, etc.
• Organize work folders and update documents pertaining to record-keeping.
• Conduct field investigations of structural issues as they arise and recommend corrective actions for short term and long-term solutions.
• Coordinate meetings and prepare meeting notes.
• Assist with documentation including managing charge codes, budgets/forecasts, and project’s scope of work.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits interns to work remotely a maximum of one day per week. In person collaboration is essential to how the Port Authority conducts business and regular in-office days or team collaboration days may be required depending on business needs. Some internships may require interns to be fully in-person.
• Ability to opt in to the New York State and Local Retirement System
• Problem-solving skills
• Organizational capability
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.)
• Critical thinking mindset
• Enrollment at a college or university at the time of the internship
• Major in Engineering (Civil or Structural)
