Project Manager

Description

The Project Manager will support the Contract Delivery Manager in the Arb Utility division at Ground Control, overseeing the operation of an assigned programme of tree works in the Salisbury area and driving delivery against self‑set and contract KPI targets for the tree cutting teams.

• Manage assigned tree works programme in Salisbury, delivering on safety, quality, production, budget, schedule and client satisfaction.
• Coordinate with office Project Coordinator to ensure timely project processing.
• Provide regular reports to the Contract Delivery Manager.
• Maintain an adequate work bank and maximise utilisation of tree cutting teams.
• Update and manage Work Programme, SD Programme, Held‑Up Programme and planning checklists.
• Resolve client‑held‑up issues to obtain consent.

Requirements

This field‑based position involves approximately three to four days on site and one to two days working from home, requiring a valid driving licence for regular travel to rural locations.

The ideal candidate has existing arboriculture or tree surgery experience and is seeking a first management role, although horticultural or grounds‑maintenance backgrounds are also welcomed. Success in the role requires strong negotiation and influencing skills, competent IT abilities, well‑developed team management and organisational capabilities, the capacity to prioritize competing demands and deliver excellent customer service.
