The position is responsible for on‑site operations, maintenance, repairs, and equipment replacement at a wind‑powered generation plant under the direction of the Facility Manager. Duties include operating and maintaining turbines and balance‑of‑plant equipment, reading schematics to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and performing component repairs according to manufacturer requirements. The role also requires compliance with environmental health and safety programs, execution of preventive maintenance per OEM and Pattern Energy practices, operation of service vehicles, tool upkeep, and data collection for plant reporting.
Applicants need at least a one‑year college or technical certificate, or equivalent wind‑industry experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to climb 80‑meter steel towers daily. Physical requirements include lifting up to 100 lb and meeting a weight limit of 265 lb, while advanced computer skills are needed for diagnostics and reporting. Candidates must be willing to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and on‑call schedules, and to operate in adverse weather and around low/medium voltage equipment. Preferred experience includes power plant or wind plant operations, turbine power converter expertise, and medium/high‑voltage switching. Compensation ranges from $27.00 to $34.00 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package, with Pattern Energy being an equal‑opportunity employer.
