We're looking for Network Engineers with Defence experience. Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.

We’re interested in hearing from professionals with Network Engineering experience.

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be necessary.

More than anything, you’ll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients.

  • VMWare suite of products, Citrix VDI, Windows Administrative toolsets, Red Hat Linux, Wintel experience.
  • Experience in network design, configuration, and support using technologies such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, and next-generation firewalls.
  • Strong understanding of network security, encryption devices, and intrusion prevention systems.
  • Relevant vendor certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, PCNSE) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Familiarity with Defence networks and ICT frameworks (e.g., DRN, DSN, ISM, DSPF).
  • Previous experience ideally within the Defence or consulting services industries.
