Advanced BESS Technician (Operations and Maintenance)

Description

• Troubleshoot and conduct preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
• Perform authorized Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures under proper conditions.
• Lead daily safety briefings, pre‑task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) and Risk Assessments (RAs).
• Interact professionally with vendors and customers.
• Support site operations, including supervising field work with an emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

Safety is paramount; technicians must follow OSHA standards, perform Lock‑Out‑Tag‑Out procedures, and complete daily safety and task planning such as JHAs and risk assessments. The position may involve rotating shifts, prolonged standing, ergonomic challenges, and travel to varied climates, and requires a valid driver’s license.

• 3‑4+ years of electrical proficiency with experience in electrical systems and components.
• 3‑4+ years of renewable energy experience preferred.
• Post‑secondary education and relevant electrical certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E) preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
• Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and ability to identify and resolve potential issues.

Benefits
