To support continued growth, VMG is seeking a Layout Technician. The role assists with the layout of commercial construction worksites in accordance with project specifications, plumbing codes, and construction drawings. The Layout Technician ensures accurate installation sequencing and field execution.
The technician assists with layout of plumbing systems and worksites per approved plans, reviews and interprets construction drawings and blueprints, and accurately measures and marks layout points for installation. He/she identifies and troubleshoots layout or site‑related issues, providing effective solutions, and collaborates with field teams to ensure layout accuracy and efficiency. The role also maintains compliance with applicable plumbing codes and safety standards.
Candidates need a minimum of two years’ experience in new construction with prior layout involvement, strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, and precise measuring skills with attention to detail. Proven problem‑solving abilities on active job sites, comfort working on ladders and at heights, and the physical capability to lift up to 10 lb regularly, 50 lb frequently, and 75 lb occasionally with assistance are required. The position is 100 % field‑based, requiring travel to job sites throughout the DMV area.
