• Lead brainstorming and technical review sessions to develop innovative solutions that enhance performance and cost‑efficiency of the Linear Generator and electrical subsystems.
• Take full ownership of design, optimization, and execution of key electrical hardware, balancing cost reduction, safety improvements, and system‑level reliability.
• Collaborate with reliability and test teams to validate systems and components, ensuring fast iteration cycles and incorporating feedback for next‑generation deployment.
• Work cross‑functionally with electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, NPI, and external suppliers to deploy new designs into production, meeting performance and manufacturability requirements.
• Lead the development cycle of electrical hardware, including requirements, prototyping, testing, iteration, and tooling, ensuring project milestones are met and resources are allocated effectively.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, guiding them through technical challenges, offering design strategy advice, and helping develop their skills toward project goals.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering (or similar); senior level requires BS + 6 years or MS + 5 years of experience.
• Proven experience owning electrical enclosure and/or cable design from initial concept through launch and managing cross‑functional teams.
• Strong expertise in sheet‑metal design for medium‑volume production, electrical component specification, mechanical design for electrical systems, and design‑for‑manufacturability challenges.
• Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles and thermal modeling, with ability to integrate them into larger system designs.
• Extensive experience in SolidWorks and PDM (or similar CAD version‑control); CFD, FEA, SolidWorks Flow Simulation or Ansys experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical decisions, influence design direction, and coordinate with teams to achieve successful outcomes.

The position is based onsite at the Menlo Park headquarters, with a salary range of $132,000‑$156,000 plus pre‑IPO stock options and benefits.

Compensation is adjusted for local market conditions and experience, and the company does not typically negotiate salary after an offer. New hires start within the advertised base‑pay range and can increase earnings over time by developing additional skills, competencies, and company knowledge.
