BESS Project Engineer

Description

Closely supporting the project delivery and engineering team you will be responsible for the technical engineering, development and pre-construction/construction activities of distribution and grid connected scale battery projects across Australia. This position will involve detailed project design, providing technical input into every stage and applying proven expertise across multiple projects.

• Ensuring regulatory and technical compliance is achieved for every project within the portfolio
• Providing technical engineering support to the wider development, construction and engineering teams
• Lead the development and early stage engineering of BESS projects across the NEM
• Coordinating with key stakeholders including suppliers & OEMs, EPCs, TNSPs, consultants and the construction delivery team internally

Requirements

• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Strong knowledge of the renewable energy market in Australia and the regulations and standards involved
• Ability to work independently and autonomously as well as part of a wider team
• Proven sector experience in renewable energy project engineering with a strong understanding of distributed/grid connected BESS projects
• Electrical Engineering Qualification (or equivalent)
